SpongeBlahb

Two of the three comics on my Yahoo homepage were jokes about the irritating, absorbent character known as SpongeBob. Not being a fan of the squishy guy it should have made my day to have two comics rip on him... but they didn't rip on him. He was just the punchline of the joke. As if he's funny enough just being there to carry otherwise very clever comics. I'm so disappointed.

For those of you that like talking cleaning supplies:

Having been a slave of the government I can say that Dilbert is universally poignant. It's another of my daily reads. I swear the pointy haired boss is one of my upper level managers.

I *much* prefer Dilbert - I've never been a Sponge Bob fan.

My fave though, is "Get Fuzzy"!

About two hours ago I noticed a Get Fuzzy daily calendar on my co-worker's desk and today's strip was pretty funny. I might have to make it one of my daily reads.

i think any clown with his/her own ink set is allowed to produce comics now, regardless of whether they have a talent for the funny. That's why they're just stealing shit like Spongebob and adding him to their unfunny strips. It all went downhill when the dude who drew Garfield learned he could fuck the dog, submit totally lazy, shitty comic strips and still get paid.

Oh I cannot stand SpongeBob, but I think it's primarily envy. I wish I had made a bazillion from that stupid little sponge....

Hmm...a talking sponge? Wow, my imagination could totally run with that one.

Saucy Monk, you're right. For weeks now the Garfield strips have been nothing but him laying around and eating. The writer has definitely gotten as lazy as the character, which has made the character lazier which... oh yeah downward spiral we go.

Rachel, I think I know what you're thinking and a talking prophylactic sponge would have it's niche market but I don't see it going mainstream. 8-þ

Qt_pie88 since he's absorbent, I'd say he sucks in every possible way. 8-þ

Monkey I don't know if they ever talked but those scrubbing bubbles were always my favorite cleaning supply characters. Thanks for visiting and thank you for the link.

Babydufus I hope you don't feel like a minority because you actually like the absorbent one. We still like you just the same.
